Gang fight in the Subway

Thursday, May 22, 2008 | | 0 comments |

I had just walked off the L train I wasn't paying attention to what was going on because I had my ear phones on suddenly I found my self walking right in-between an argument.  There was about five teenage boys, about two of them had on blue shirts with blue flags and the other three had on red with red bandanas immediately I knew it was a gang clash between the "bloods" and the "crips."

I was walking toward the stairs and this guy walks right in-front of me he said "it ain't nothing it ain't nothing" to the guy he was arguing with then I looked down at his hands and he had a knife so I tried to move away because I didn't what they were about to do.  The other guy took his shirt off and handed it to his friend and he said "so what up then."  The guy with the knife even though he had a weapon I could tell he was scared, so when the train came he walked on the train and his friend followed him. They didn't get to fight and soon after the police came.

She's Going to Jail

Yesterday at Broadway Junction as soon as I got off the L train I saw this girl getting arrested in the subway as the police officer was putting the cuffs on her she kept yelling get off of me! get off of me! She was with her friend and people kept staring because they didn't know what was going on. She was getting kind of ruff with the police officer because she didn't want to put on the cuffs, so he was man handling her to get the cuffs on.  After that she started crying.

I was in a hurry, so I just walked pass and took a glance but as I walked toward the escalators at to catch the C train I saw another police officer escorting this guy in cuffs out of the subway, after that I was really curious about what happen. I don't know what they did but it was a big scene and I was left wondering what the hell happened?

Fake Bum

I was on the J train and one of the usually beggars came on the train he was a real character because he would put up an act to get money from people.  He was kind of a heavy set guy real tall, with muscles he would come on the train with the most dirties torn up clothes and he would put on shoes that his feet were bursting out of, his hair is always in an Afro full of  lint. When he begs he would yell real loud and act like he had some sort of mental retardation most of the time he came on the train people get scared, everybody would move away from him because he looked like he could seriously hurt somebody.

On day as I was entering the train station I saw him, he was smoking a cigarette with this guy I thought to my self what a sorry excuse for a human being. From his everyday act you wouldn't even know he could speak proper English and here he was talking to this guy asking him for a cigarette.  Nothing was wrong with him he was just another lazy crock trying who didn't like to work so he made up a scam to get money from unsuspecting people who felt sorry for him.

Batteries Batteries

There is this woman on the J line she sells batteries for a living I don't think she knows English very well because all I've ever heard her say is "batteries batteries." She comes onto the train everyday with her backpack full of batteries dragging it behind her from cart to cart. It looks like she has been doing it for years. I've noticed a few times that if anybody doesn't buy her batteries she would start cursing in creole.  She looks grumpy most of the time, most people think she is crazy because of the way she dresses it looks like she just puts on some random clothes with lots of layers.  Sometimes I wonder how much money can she really make by selling batteries on the train probably not a lot but she's there everyday riding the train to the last stop at Parsons boulevard and then getting on the next Manhattan bound train. Some of you that take the J train has probably seen her it wouldn't be a regular train ride in NYC without the colorful people you ride with.

What kind of characters do you see while commuting on the NYC subway?

Closing Doors

I'm on the C train its around 8 O' Clock its rush hour everybody is either trying to get to work or school. The train is packed with people shoulder to shoulder, as the train stops at Nostrand Avenue more people got on, its so crowded that this Spanish woman she tries to force herself on the train this woman tells her she can't fit use the next door but the doors were closing. She pushes the door open and tries to squeeze her way in but there is no room left the door starts to close again the woman yells at her she says "I'm not moving use the other door!" she continues to hold the door the other woman gets so pissed off she grabs her hand shoves it away the woman didn't do anything she kept pushing until she got on the train.

When I saw that the woman pushed the Spanish lady's hands I thought it would have been a fight but she didn't react the way I thought she would and I think that took a lot not to hit her back.

Get A Room

I don't know about you but when I see people making out on the train I just wanna tell them do you know how nasty you look. I mean tongue all down the throat, grabbing and squeezing each other its like a soap opera. And most of the times its teenagers. I saw this "couple" the girl was braced against the wall while her boyfriend was infront of her and they were going at it. I just looked and laughed because it just shows that more and more teens are becoming sexual active because they think they're in love. And its sad because most of those relationships don't last it just lust and they are too young to know the difference. What do you think ?

Knock Knock

The train stops at Atlantic Avenue the conductor comes out of her booth to make an announcement she says the train will skip all stops and the next stop will be East 105th street. The intercom was broken so she couldn't announce it to all of the other passengers in the rest of the cars.

So the train starts skipping stops this one woman at the back of the train she walks all the way up to the front car to knock on the train conductor's door. She knocks several times. Surprisingly the conductor opens the door the woman starts arguing with her. I'm looking at them like who's watching the train I couldn't believe it. The woman said you just skipped my stop, the conductor said yes the next stop is East 105th street, how I am suppose to know that she said you didn't say anything the conductor replied yes I did but the intercom is broken so you didn't hear it didn't I she asked one of other passengers, he said yes but how are they suppose to know whats going on they're all the way in the back of the train.

So finally the she leaves then then the conductor got back into the booth to watch the controls. What if something would have happened to the train while she was arguing with the passenger we all would have been killed.
